Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Rose Champagne 2016

Elegant, precise and beautifully expressive, Moet & Chandon Grand Vintage Rose 2016 is the 46th vintage rose produced by the historic Champagne house. The 2016 growing season was challenging, with severe spring frost and heavy rainfall followed by a hot, dry summer. Despite the difficult conditions, the Pinot Noir and Meunier harvested that year were exceptional, providing the backbone for this distinctive vintage Champagne.

The blend comprises 43% Pinot Noir, 42% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier, with 13% of the Pinot Noir coming from still red wine. It spent at least six years ageing in the cellars, followed by a minimum of six months after disgorgement. A dosage of 5g/l places it in the Extra Brut category, giving the wine a dry, focused character while retaining plenty of ripe fruit.

• The nose is packed with raspberry, crushed strawberry and ripe red berries, alongside rose, hibiscus and violet.
• The palate is supple and harmonious, with vibrant raspberry, delicate red fruit and a fine, refreshing structure.
• The finish is elegant and lightly savoury, with subtle spice, chocolate and a gentle touch of astringency.

A beautifully refined vintage Rose Champagne with plenty of fresh red fruit and a dry, elegant finish. It works particularly well with shellfish, lobster, salmon and lightly spiced Asian dishes.
