This vintage Champagne blends Pinot Noir from Montagne de Reims with Chardonnay from the Cote des Blancs. Grapes are sourced from Grand Cru villages including Ay, Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger. Billecart-Salmon, founded in 1818, is a family-run house known for its precision and long lees ageing.
Ten percent of the wine is vinified in oak casks, adding richness and structure. It then spends ten years on lees before release, with a low dosage of 3.8 g/L. The result is a mineral-driven Champagne with tension, elegance and significant ageing potential.
