The Sidecar
The Sidecar dates back to World War I, allegedly created at a bar in Paris or London. It was named after a military officer’s preferred mode of transport. The drink became a staple in 1920s cocktail culture and remains a classic today.
Type Of Liqueur: Orange Liqueur (Triple Sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier)
Tasting Profile: A zesty and balanced mix of citrusy sweetness, smooth Cognac, and a tart lemon finish.
Ingredients:
- 50ml Cognac
- 25ml Orange Liqueur
- 25ml Fresh Lemon Juice
- Sugar for the rim (optional)
How To Make:
- Rim a coupe glass with sugar (optional).
- Add Cognac, orange liqueur, and lemon juice to a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well and strain into the prepared glass.
- Garnish with an orange twist.
