The Taylors Quinta De Vargellas 2019 vintage port is made using grapes grown at Quinta De Vargellas, widely recognised as one of the best vineyards in the Douro region. Rich and intense, drink when young or it will keep for many decades.

Like those of Vargellas, the wines of the beautiful old property of Taylor’s Qunita de Terra Feita are an essential component of the Taylor’s vintage port blend. The wines of Terra Feita express sensuous hedonism and earthiness. Enjoy blackberry and cassis fruitiness with wild herbal aromas. Tarry notes of liquorice and tobacco and a palate full with thick mouth filling tannins. It is the harmony and tension between the contrasting styles of these two great properties which fundamentally define the character of Taylor’s vintage ports.

Taylor's introduces the inaugural vintage of Taylors Sentinels, 2022. Crafted from four of its historic vineyards in the Pinhao Valley: Terre Feita, Junco, Casa Nova, and Eira Velha. Named after the "marcos de feitoria" granite pillars marking these sites, this new wine honours the legacy of these iconic vineyards.

Taylor's is one of the first historic Port wine lodges, having been established in 1692. A family company since its foundation, it has been dedicated exclusively to the production of high-quality Port wines, from the planting of the vine and harvesting the grapes for fermentation, to the ageing and bottling of the various styles of Port wine. The family's commitment to the future of Port wine is also demonstrated in its determination to preserve and, where appropriate, improve the unique environmental, social and economic aspects of the Douro region through the promotion of sustainable viticulture.

Taylor’s is mainly recognised as a benchmark for Vintage Port, its classic Vintages attracting the highest scores and auction prices. Known for their elegance, longevity and distinctive scented character, they are blended from the finest wines of five of the firm’s own ‘quintas’ or estates: Quinta de Vargellas, Quinta da Terra Feita, Quinta do Junco, Quinta da Eira Velha and Quinta da Casa Nova.

The house created L.B.V. (Late Bottled Vintage), a style which the company pioneered and of which it continues to be the principal producer; it also pioneered Extra Dry White Port when it invented Chip Dry, and also launched the first Single Quinta Vintage Port. Taylor’s is also recognized as the most important producer of Aged Tawnies and has one of the most extensive reserves of cask aged Port wines.
