This corn-free American wheat whisky comes from Star Hill Farm in Loretto, Kentucky. It is the second edition in an annual wheat whisky series from Maker’s Mark. The focus here is grain: soft red winter, hard white and heirloom hard red wheat, with malted barley. All of it is estate-grown using regenerative farming, then bottled at cask strength without chill filtration. It was named the best wheat whisky in the world for 2026.
- The nose is dark and dense, leading with molasses, dried fig and a whisper of spice.
- The palate turns brighter, offering zesty citrus, ripe pear and buttery shortbread.
- It finishes long and balanced, with a rich sweetness and a soft cinnamon warmth.
