Veyder-Malberg Hochrain Gruner Veltliner

This is a single-vineyard Grüner Veltliner from the steep Hochrain terraces in Wösendorf, part of Austria’s Wachau region. The vines grow in deep loess soils, which lend the wine its distinctive yellow-fruited and spicy character.

Winemaker Peter Veyder-Malberg farms organically and works entirely by hand, preserving the integrity of the landscape and the fruit. Fermentation is spontaneous, with no added enzymes or cultured yeasts, and ageing takes place in large neutral oak barrels. The result is a white wine that reflects its terroir with clarity and precision.
