POL ROGER CHAMPAGNE
"I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
Pol Roger Brut Vintage Champagne Magnum
The Pol Roger 2016 Vintage presents a pale-yellow hue, still displaying youthful vibrancy. On the nose, it offers an enticing depth, dominated by rich stone fruit aromas that hint at both intensity and opulence. These fruit-forward notes are beautifully complemented by the subtle yet unmistakable influence of extended yeast contact, adding layers of complexity and finesse. The palate is generous and full-bodied, showcasing a remarkable balance between richness and structure. Bright acidity cuts through the depth of flavour, ensuring both freshness and longevity. There is a refined interplay of ripe fruit, delicate pastry undertones, and a mineral-driven precision that underscores the wine’s pedigree. Still youthful and tightly wound, this vintage holds significant aging potential. With time, it promises to evolve into a classic, following in the footsteps of the great Pol Roger vintages of 1988, 1998, and 2008.Country: France

"I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
Perhaps its most famous admirer was Sir Winston Churchill, who developed a lifelong devotion to Pol Roger following a lunch in the British Embassy in Paris on 12 November 1945 – shortly after the Conservatives were voted out of office – where Churchill met Odette Pol Roger, and at which Pol Roger 1928 was served. His connection with the house was so strong that he drank it in pint-sized servings from a tankard and maintained a close friendship with Odette Pol-Roger. To honour this legacy, the house created the prestigious Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill in 1984, a rich and full-bodied Champagne inspired by his love of robust vintages.
Churchill himself once declared, "I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
