Primitivo Wine

Primitivo, a grape variety native to southern Italy. Producing bold, full-bodied red wines with rich, intense flavours. Particularly famous in the region of Puglia, Primitivo thrives in the warm Mediterranean climate. Resulting in wines that are both robust and deeply expressive. Offering a deep ruby colour, vibrant fruitiness, and balanced tannins. Primitivo wines offer a harmonious blend of dark berries, spice, and earthy undertones.

Linking Primitivo to Zinfandel, a variety popular in California, as the two grapes are genetically identical. However, the unique terroir of southern Italy gives Primitivo wines their own distinctive character, often showing a greater richness and concentration due to the hot, dry conditions in which the vines flourish.
