Gaja Wines & Spirits
Gaja is one of the most revered names in the Italian wine scene. Their story started with Giovanni Gaja in 1859 in Barbaresco. Today, their presence spans multiple regions in Italy under the stewardship of 4th generation Angelo Gaja and his children Gaia, Rossana and Giovanni. They are one of the most innovative winemaking families in Italy, never deviating from their core values of having great respect for nature and attention to detail. They consistently make elegant wines that stay true to their origins.
Gaja purchased the Pieve Santa Restituta estate next to the picturesque town of Montalcino in 1994. Naming it after the 4th century parish church which sits in the middle of the estate. The Montalcino region in Tuscany is responsible for some of the richest, greatest and most age worthy wines made from the sangiovese grape.
Gaja’s foray into spirit production is deeply rooted in the Italian tradition. Making grappa from the by products of winemaking. Crafting the grappa from the pomace of their finest grapes, including nebbiolo, barbera, and cabernet sauvignon. Sourcing from their vineyards in Barbaresco and Barolo. The selection of high-quality grapes is the first step in ensuring the excellence of their grappa.
