Autumn in Herefordshire is always a magical time, and the return of Hereford AppleFest from 28th September to 13th October 2024 promises to be the perfect way to celebrate the region’s rich apple-growing tradition. For two weeks, this vibrant festival will host an array of apple-themed events throughout the county, offering something for everyone - from cider lovers to families looking for a fun day out.

A Festive Kick-Off In Hereford

The festival kicks off on 28th September with a lively day of activities in Hereford city centre, including live music, an artisan cider and apple juice market, children’s games, local art exhibitions, and even an AppleFest film screening for the whole family. The Saturday market will be abuzz with apple-inspired treats, crafts, and local produce, and the city will be transformed into a hub of celebration.

Last year, the kick-off event drew hundreds of visitors, and this year’s edition promises to be just as exciting - if not bigger! It’s the perfect way to start the festival with a bang, as the community comes together to celebrate all things apple.

Countywide Fringe Events

Throughout the two weeks of AppleFest, the festival will spread across the county, with fringe events taking place in towns and villages across Herefordshire. These events will include orchard tours, talks, and tastings with some of Herefordshire’s best-known cider and perry producers.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the art of cider-making, while enjoying the fruits of centuries-old traditions.

Running throughout the entire festival, these sessions will offer a chance to sample a variety of locally crafted ciders, allowing you to taste the true essence of Herefordshire.
