Are P&Ts The New G&Ts?
As we (im)patiently await the long, beautiful summer days of sunshine, what better way to spend the run-up than planning in advance what delicious, refreshing tipple you want to have in your hand whilst soaking up the sun?
Since 2012, there has been a huge increase in the sales of White Port to you lovely consumers and honestly, we don’t blame you one bit. White Port is one of the most versatile drinks that has grown to be enjoyed by many and in acknowledgment of this new reputation, Graham’s Port have produced a special edition named ‘Graham’s Blend No.5 White Port’. This creation has come hand-in-hand with lighter evenings, warmer temperatures and sunnier days with the intention to reach and appeal to new consumers who may not normally put Port as their first choice.
As you may have noticed, this Port doesn’t just come in any old bottle and we can assure you, the unique design is almost as good as what’s inside. Fashion illustrator, Antonio Soares, who has previously worked with the likes of Fendi, Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel was enlisted to draw the art for this bottle and he certainly didn’t disappoint. The artistic interpretation uses strong and vibrant colours to symbolise the organic elements to this White Port and it incorporates the main flavours in a sketch design surrounding the Graham’s label.
Blend No.5 contains two, carefully selected, premium grape varieties – Malvasia Fina, chosen specifically for its stunning freshness and Moscatel Gallega, known for its enticing aromatics. A union of flavours explode on both the nose and palate with the fresh acidity of lemon and lime harmonising with smoother peach and honey notes finishing off with a slight touch of mint.
We are well aware of how delicious this sounds and if those flavours sound right up your street, simply just splash this over some ice in a tumbler and sip away but if you want to try something a little different, grab yourself a bottle of premium tonic, a slice of lemon and sprig of fresh mint to create the perfect Port & Tonic and experience this new trend for yourself. Be transported to the warm, sunny days of the vibrant city of Porto in Northern Portugal as you sit back, relax and wonder how you ever let a summer go by before without enjoying a Port & Tonic.
