Vega Sicilia Unico is an extraordinary red wine made by the Vega Sicilia winery in the Ribera del Duero. It is the flagship wine of the estate and is only made in the very best vintages.
The 2011 Vega Sicilia Unico is made from a blend of 95% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, selected from the oldest vineyards on the estate. It is aged for at least seven years in French oak manufactured in the cellar. Once bottled, Vega Sicilia Unico rests in bottle for three years before going to market. This process gives life to a very special and unique wine. Enjoy now or drink until 2033.
Very ripe with plum, spice and dried-flower aromas, as well as chocolate, fresh flowers and sandalwood. Coffee and hints of meat. Sort of decadent. Full-bodied with round, creamy tannins and an intense, juicy feel. Unique cedar and walnut undertones. So delicious now, but one for the future, too.
