Valdespino Vermouth Origen
This historic Spanish vermouth comes from Jerez, a region renowned for its distinctive, carefully aged Sherry wines. The bodega's roots stretch back centuries, with documented wine trading under the Valdespino name by 1430.
Very old Oloroso Sherry and Moscatel form the base, bringing oxidative richness and gentle sweetness. Wormwood, gentian, coriander, chamomile, cloves, cinnamon and dried Seville orange add herbal bitterness and aromatic spice. The blend matures in oak casks previously used for Oloroso, integrating the botanicals with the wine's depth.
- Rich spices and caramelised citrus lead the nose, backed by aged Sherry notes.
- The full, rounded palate combines fresh citrus, gentle spice and a refined, oaky bitterness.
- The finish is long and smooth, with lingering citrus and warming spice.
Enjoy alongside olives, almonds, cured meats or anchovies, or use it to add depth to classic vermouth cocktails.
