Soto Manrique La Cruz Verde Old Vine Garnacha
Produced in Spain’s Sierra de Gredos, this red is made by Soto Manrique from 100% Garnacha grown in the Paraje de Villalba zone. Vines are bush-trained and over 60 years old, planted at 850 metres on granitic soils with good water retention. The vineyard’s altitude and proximity to pine forests and the Arroyo Becedas contribute to cooler temperatures and natural freshness.
Fermentation is spontaneous in concrete tanks, with 15% whole bunches. After devatting, the wine is aged for 14 months in large oak vats from Mastro Bottaio cooperage. It undergoes malolactic fermentation and is filtered only once before bottling, preserving purity and texture.
