Old Forester launched in 1870 as the first bourbon sold exclusively in sealed glass bottles. Founder George Garvin Brown created it in Louisville, Kentucky, to guarantee quality and consistency. This Kentucky straight bourbon opens the Whisky Row series, honouring those early origins. Bourbon drawn from three separate warehouses is brought together, echoing the original batching method.
- The nose offers spiced shortbread, candied mixed peel and drizzles of vanilla syrup.
- The palate brings citrus and spice, with clove, nutmeg, black pepper and warm biscuits.
- Warm spices linger gently through the finish.
Serve neat or over a large ice cube to let the spice unfold. It pairs well with glazed ham, roast pork or a slice of pecan pie.
