Nikka Miyagikyo Single Malt Whisky

Miyagikyo single malts have an elegance and fruity nature, using malted barley that is both lightly peated and non-peated. Employing pot stills heated through indirect steam, these whiskies epitomise a distinctive fruit-forward profile and exhibit a refined, delicate texture.

Masataka Taketsuru, the visionary behind Nikka, opted for a scenic valley in the Miyagi prefecture to establish his second distillery. Commencing operations in 1969, Taketsuru intentionally crafted a distinct dichotomy between his two creations: Miyagikyo and Yoichi. Masataka Taketsuru intentionally positioned these distilleries side by side, purposefully aligning them with distinct natural environments and production methods.

This no age statement bottling of Nikka Miyagikyo single malt whisky contains whiskies of at least 10 years old. The Miyagikyo style is delicate, fruity yet intense characters and represents the perfect introduction for those new to Japanese whisky.
