Mulline Portarlington Pinot Noir

This Australian Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard in Portarlington, on the Bellarine Peninsula in Victoria's Geelong wine region. Planted in 1998 with MV6 clones, the vineyard benefits from its distinctive coastal location beside the water.

Winemaker Ben Mullen uses 40% whole bunches during winemaking, adding spice and herbal character alongside the grape's delicate red fruit. Ageing in French oak barriques, including 25% new oak, helps shape the wine's structure while allowing its bright fruit to shine.

• Bright crimson-purple in colour, it opens with wild strawberries and kirsch, followed by white pepper and dried mountain herbs.
• Concentrated yet balanced, the palate combines juicy red fruit with silky tannins and lively acidity.
• The finish brings together lingering herbal spice and fresh fruit, leaving an elegant, refined impression.

Serve slightly chilled alongside roast duck, herb-roasted chicken or mushroom risotto, where the savoury flavours complement the wine's bright fruit and gentle spice.
