This bottled in bond Tennessee whiskey comes from a craft distillery near Franklin, in Williamson County. Founded by Lee and Lynlee Kennedy, it fills every barrel from local, non-GMO grains. It is pot distilled in a full-bodied, pre-Prohibition style. What sets it apart is the charcoal mellowing through sugar maple before ageing. Rye sits alongside malted barley in the mash.
- Creamy mocha and caramel syrup, with dark cherry and honeyed stone fruit.
- Toffee and chocolate cherries on the palate, with spiced biscuit and mellow oak.
- A long close, where layers of sweetness and warm spice keep going.
Sip it neat or over a large ice cube to soften the spice. It goes well with dark chocolate pudding, barbecued ribs or a mature cheese.
