Laphroaig Elements 1.0 Whisky
The inaugural bottling of a new experimental whisky series by Laphroaig which explores the different elements within the Laphroaig production process which makes the Hallmark Laphraoig characteristics we all know and love.
The distillery team were given complete autonomy to play on these elements and develop single malts with a twist. Laphroaig Elements 1.0 uses two mash tuns; one singular of 8.5 tons and two 5.5 tons of mash. Bottling is at a cask strength of 58.6%.
- On the nose tropical notes greet you with an underlying layer of salinity
- The palate opens with more tropical fruits, such as pineapple and a good amount of spice and liquorice
- The finish is smoky with a slightly sweet undertone
Pairs beautifully with shellfish, oily fish, and salty cheese, where its bold peat smoke and coastal character enhance sweetness, balance richness, and amplify savoury depth.
