Laphroaig 36 Year Old The Archive Collection Whisky was distilled in 1985 and matured for 36 years in American Oak before being finished in second fill Oloroso Hogsheads.
On the nose, one is greeted with an enticing aroma of smoky peat, intertwined with notes of dried fruits, caramel, and a whisper of sea spray. The palate reveals a symphony of flavours, including layers of peaty smoke, rich toffee, and dark chocolate, complemented by hints of dried apricots, spice, and a delicate salinity. The finish is exceptionally long and satisfying, leaving a warming trail of smoke, oak, and a subtle sweetness.
