Lancashire Mead Company Aegir Mead

This mead is a ‘Tannined Melomel’ (fruited honey mead). This is the most traditional basic mead recipe.

• Lancashire Mead Company achieve this amazing flavour simply by adding tea and orange juice to the fermentation process
• The addition of orange juice and tea gives the tannined, full bodied flavour, a slightly softer and fruitier taste
• A firm favourite with drinkers across the board

As this is a natural product, some hazing and sedimentation is likely to occur. Leave to settle in a cool, dark place and pour carefully. This a natural part of the maturation process and is not harmful to consumer or product. In fact, it will taste even better for it and it is why we use a decanter style bottle.

Lancashire Mead Company Aegir mead was awarded the silver medal in the ‘Melomels and other fruits’ category at the 2019 European Mead Makers Conference.

Aegir is a sea giant, God of the ocean and King of the sea creatures in Norse mythology. He is also known for hosting elaborate parties for the gods.
