Isle of Raasay Hungarian Oak Whisky

This a limited-edition Hebridean single malt from Isle of Raasay, released as part of the distillery’s Oak Species Maturation Series. This innovative collection explores how different oak species influence flavour, texture and character within Raasay’s lightly peated island whisky style.

This expression focuses on rare Hungarian oak sourced from the Zemplén Mountains, with the whisky matured in ex-Oloroso sherry barriques crafted from Quercus petraea Hungarian oak. The combination of lightly peated spirit, sherry seasoning and spicy Hungarian oak creates a distinctive whisky balancing dark fruit richness with dry spice and elegant smoke.

• The nose opens with dried fruit, toasted walnut, heather smoke and sweet spice layered with subtle sherry richness.
• The palate delivers dark berries, cinnamon, cocoa, roasted nuts and warming oak spice balanced by gentle peat smoke.
• The finish is long, dry and warming with lingering spice, savoury oak and fragrant smoke.
