Inspired by the vibrant red blends of Italy's Piedmont region, Idlewild Flora & Fauna Red 2022 is a fresh, expressive Californian red crafted by winemaker Sam Bilbro. Produced from organically farmed vineyards across Mendocino County, this distinctive blend combines Barbera, Dolcetto, Grignolino, Freisa and Nebbiolo to create a wine that is bright, aromatic and beautifully food-friendly. Rather than focusing on power, it celebrates purity of fruit, lively acidity and effortless drinkability, delivering a modern take on Italian-inspired winemaking in California.

Fermented to preserve freshness and varietal character, the 2022 vintage is led by Barbera and Dolcetto, with the remaining Piedmontese varieties adding floral lift, savoury complexity and fine structure. Light on its feet yet full of personality, it is equally enjoyable lightly chilled or served at cellar temperature.
