Founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s most respected producers, known for its commitment to expressing terroir and tradition. Vosne-Romanee is crafted from Pinot Noir grown on chalky marl soils in one of Burgundy’s most celebrated villages. The estate has embraced organic and biodynamic viticulture since the late 1980s, using horse ploughing, cover crops, and natural compost to maintain soil health and vineyard balance.
Vinification includes total destemming, indigenous yeast fermentation, and maceration for 2 to 3 weeks in open vats. The red wine is aged for 14 to 16 months in French oak barrels, 20–25% of which are new. This process enhances structure and complexity while preserving the purity and elegance of the fruit.
