This medium-bodied red from Stellenbosch, South Africa, is made from 100% Pinotage. It’s elegant and expressive, with red fruit, savoury spice and fine tannins. Naturally fermented in open-top fermenters and aged 12 months in older French oak, followed by 9 months in bottle, it’s crafted with minimal intervention.
Produced by Reg Holder and Etienne Terblanche, Dorper Pinotage is a collaborative project focused on showcasing the untapped potential of Pinotage. Grapes are sourced from old vines on granite soils in Simonsberg and Helderberg, picked at varying ripeness levels to capture freshness and complexity.
