Bruichladdich distillery on Islay is renowned for pushing the boundaries of peat and provenance.
This release uses 100 per cent Scottish Mainland Concerto barley malted to 101.4 PPM, distilled in 2019. The whisky has been matured in Oloroso and Bordeaux casks before a one year finishing period in Madeira and Moscatel.
- Bruichladdich Octomore 16.2 Single Malt Whisky opens with dried fruits, tropical tones, delicate florals, toasted oak and soft sea-salted smoke.
- The palate builds with caramelised sugar, roasted nuts, dried fruits and candied peel against a backdrop of warming spice and earthy peat.
- The finish lingers long with sweet smoke, maritime freshness and wood spice holding through to the final sip.
Serve neat or with a drop of water to unlock the layers of flavour. It pairs perfectly with smoked meats, spiced desserts or robust aged cheeses.
