The Bin 2 Shiraz Mataro is a full bodied red made from grapes grown in Southern Australia.
This delightfully complex red was matured for eight months in French oak (with 10% new wood) and American oak hogsheads. It was then left to rest in bottle for some time before leaving the cellars of the Penfolds Estate.
Deep red in colour. On the nose, aromatic blueberries, exotic red fruit, perfumed cranberry and fresh pomegranate with a hint of spice. On the palate, soft blue fruit jumps to the fore with textured tannins providing grip. A fresh acidity and a long, full finish with just a little spice.
Perfect paired with stewed meat and poultry with tomatoes, think beef or vegetarian ragout in red wine sauce, Basque chicken or veal roulade. Drink now until 2029.
