Marques De Murrieta Ygay Gran Reserva
Crafted in Spain’s Rioja Alta, this Gran Reserva is produced only in exceptional vintages. Grapes are sourced from La Plana, a 40-hectare vineyard planted in 1950 at the highest point of the Ygay Estate. The blend is 84% Tempranillo and 16% Mazuelo, grown on calcareous soils at 485 metres altitude.
Each variety is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. Tempranillo is aged for 28 months in American oak, while Mazuelo matures in French oak for the same duration. After blending, the wine rests for 20 months in concrete before bottling, allowing full integration and refinement.
