Evolution 1276 Pinot Noir Precoce

Evolution 1276 Pinot Noir Precoce continues the story that began in 1276, when the Bishop of Hereford recorded the planting of vines on the south-facing slopes of Ledbury in his Red Book.

This wine is expertly blended by winemaker Laurence Cocking from a selection of tanks and French oak barrels of varying age and size, including the very first crop from the wineries newest Pinot Noir Precoce vineyard block. The result is a medium-to-full-bodied red with brooding dark fruit, gentle earthiness, refined oak integration and delicate, silky tannins.

• On the nose, aromas of black cherry, sweet baking spice, chocolate and a whisper of smoke rise from the glass.
• The palate is rich and rounded, carrying flavours of dark fruit, clove, vanilla and soft oak.
• finishing with notes of forest floor and subtle earthiness that speak to the character of this expressive varietal.
