This structured red wine comes from the high-altitude slopes of Gigondas in the southern Rhone, crafted by Domaine La Bouissiere. Founded in the 1970s by Antonin Faravel and now run by his sons, the estate is known for its organic farming, old vines, and elevated vineyards nestled beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail. These conditions yield wines with freshness, depth, and a distinct mineral edge.
The blend is typically 70–75% Grenache and 25–30% Syrah, vinified with whole clusters to enhance complexity. Ageing takes place in a mix of concrete tanks and large old foudres, allowing the wine to develop structure and elegance without overt oak influence. No fining or filtration is used, preserving the wine’s natural character.
