When You Mix & Match Any Six Bottles Of Wine
Chateau Mercian Koshu Yamanashi Sur Lie
Château Mercian is Japan’s oldest winery, established in 1870, and a pioneer in crafting wines from the indigenous Koshu grape. This wine comes from Yamanashi Prefecture, the heartland of Japanese viticulture, where Koshu has grown for centuries.
Fermented in stainless steel and aged eight months on lees, it gains subtle weight and a delicate savoury nuance. The result is a wine that balances bright acidity with refined aromatics, offering a distinctive expression of Japanese winemaking heritage.
- Château Mercian Koshu Yamanashi Sur Lie shows pale yellow colour with aromas of lemon, lime and Asian pear.
- The palate is vibrant with citrus and green apple, accented by gentle astringency from the grape skins.
- The finish is crisp and mineral-driven with a whisper of lees-derived complexity.
Serve well chilled with sashimi, seafood paella or roasted mackerel seasoned with Saikyo miso.
