Joseph Drouhin are a family-run negociant in pursuit of excellence. They have embraced organic and biodynamic viticulture since the late 1980s. Employing methods such as horse ploughing, cover cropping, and natural composting to ensure healthy soil. Their high-density plantings at 12,500 vines per hectare result in low yields of only the best quality fruit.

The Cote de Beaune appellation wines come from vineyards located at the top of the hill overlooking the city of Beaune. Not to be confused with the Cote de Beaune Villages appellation which can be a blend from several villages in the Cote de Beaune area.

The Joseph Drouhin Cote de Beaune comprises of chardonnay grapes sourced from estate vineyards in Beaune. As well as some declassified wine from from the younger vines of the famous Clos des Mouches vineyard.

Fermentation is in French oak barrels, of which 10 to 15% are new. Maturing in the barrel for 12 to 14 months.
