This is a premium Tennessee whiskey, a smoother, more refined take on the classic Old No. 7. It comes from Lynchburg, the oldest registered distillery in the United States. What sets it apart is a rare double charcoal mellowing. The whiskey is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before ageing, then again before bottling. This extra step gives it exceptional smoothness, at an easy 40% ABV.
- A spicy nose of caramel, charred oak and a touch of aniseed.
- The palate leads with liquorice, joined by oak, cinnamon and a hint of banana.
- A roasty finish with plenty of spice and a lift of citrus.
Sip it neat, over ice, or in a Jack and Coke, where it shines. It works well with barbecued ribs, burgers, or a slice of pecan pie.
