Glenfarclas 200 Series Set Writing Desk

A collection of five rare single-cask whiskies sits within this £65,000 Glenfarclas Writing Desk, representing age statements of 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 years. Limited to only 15 desks worldwide, each whisky is bottled at cask strength and natural colour, with individual maturation ranging from sherry hogsheads to a first-fill sherry butt. The five age statements combine to create the 200 Series, celebrating five decades of Glenfarclas whisky character in one presentation.

The desk itself is handcrafted from English oak by N.E.J. Stevenson, a Royal Warrant holder specialising in bespoke cabinet making. Finished in Glenfarclas red, it opens to reveal five hand-cut Glencairn crystal decanters, two tasting glasses, bespoke coasters, a leather-bound notebook and a Glenfarclas history book. A bespoke tasting booklet also allows the owner to record personal tasting notes for each whisky.

• Deep sunlit amber with copper and mahogany hues, showing the visual depth associated with long maturation.
• Opulent sherry aromas of dried raisin and fig develop alongside caramel, polished oak, dark chocolate, orange zest and vanilla. Cinnamon, clove and a touch of leather add further complexity.
• Concentrated dried fruit and sherry sweetness are joined by orange zest, toffee and cocoa. Mature oak, cinnamon and clove bring structure, with a rich and creamy texture.
• Long and elegant, with lingering raisin, fig and prune followed by silky oak, warming spice, dark chocolate and a refined touch of leather.
