Chartreuse Green Liqueur
Chartreuse Green is a French herbal liqueur produced by Carthusian monks in the French Alps since the 18th century. Its recipe is said to include around 130 different herbs, plants and flowers, all macerated and distilled before being aged in oak casks. The exact formula remains a closely guarded secret, known only to a few monks at any given time.
- The aroma is intense, showing herbal, floral and spicy notes with a distinct earthy freshness.
- On the palate it is powerful and complex, combining mint, sage, citrus, anise and peppery spice, balanced by a natural sweetness.
- The finish is long, warming and aromatic.
Chartreuse Green can be enjoyed neat, over ice, or as an ingredient in cocktails such as The Last Word or a Chartreuse Swizzle.
