Bivrost Jormungandr Whisky - Loke Series 02

Inspired by Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent of Norse mythology, this whisky reflects themes of scale, intensity and balance. The serpent, cast into the ocean and destined to battle Thor at Ragnarok, symbolises the cycle of destruction and renewal, an idea mirrored in the whisky’s layered and evolving character.

This expression is aged for around six years, initially matured in French Premier Grand Cru wine casks to build structure and fruit depth, before being finished in rare Creme Brulee casks made from toasted maple syrup–seasoned oak.

The whisky is matured in an Arctic environment, where extreme temperature shifts and an average annual temperature of just 0.6°C slow the ageing process and enhance complexity. Bottled at an impressive 50% ABV with non-chill filtering or artificial colouring.

• Aromas of soft red berries and stewed orchard fruits, layered with vanilla custard, caramelised sugar and toasted oak.
• On the palate, it is velvety and expressive, with raspberry compote and red plum giving way to creme brulee notes of burnt sugar, creamy vanilla and toasted almond. Spice from Arctic barley adds structure with cinnamon, white pepper and a subtle herbal edge.
• The finish is medium to long, with lingering caramel, spiced vanilla, dry oak and a clean, mineral freshness.
