E. Guigal Condrieu
This white wine is grown on steep terraced slopes of sand and granite in the Northern Rhone. It is made entirely from Viognier grapes, harvested from vines averaging 30 years of age.
Fermentation takes place at low temperatures, with one third in new oak barrels and two thirds in stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation and ages completely in new oak.
- The nose reveals delicate aromas of violets alongside sweet apricot, peach and citrus fruit.
- The palate is rich and full bodied with an unctuous, round texture balanced by a fresh acidity.
- The finish is long and elegant, showing a light acidity alongside fleshy stone fruit.
This wine pairs beautifully with rich fish, scrambled eggs or truffle-based dishes.
