Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky produces this bourbon, with a brand history reaching back to the 1880s. The distillery works differently to most of its neighbours, using two separate mash bills and five proprietary yeast strains. That gives ten distinct bourbon recipes, each with its own character, all matured on site in single-storey warehouses.

Those low warehouses keep temperatures even across the seasons, so the barrels age gently and consistently. This bottling marries all ten recipes together and rests for a minimum of five years before being bottled at 40% ABV. It is a soft, approachable style, and a sensible first step for anyone new to bourbon.
