A premium dark rum that combines the heritage of Caribbean and Central American rums with a bold rye finish. This small-batch expression is expertly finished in American rye whiskey barrels. The barrel finishing introduces distinctive spice and structure, creating a crossover of two revered spirits traditions.

  • Papas Pilar Rye Whiskey Barrel Finished Rum shows a deep amber colour with copper highlights. Nose offers aromas of toasted oak, rye spice, caramel, and vanilla with subtle molasses notes.
  • Palate delivers smooth, layered flavours of dark sugar, baking spices, and dried fruit. Hints of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg enhance the complexity and warmth of the rum.
  • Long, warming finish with a gentle rye-driven peppery character. Full-bodied yet balanced, highlighting the synergy between aged rum and rye whiskey barrels.

The Ernest Hemingway Limited Edition Rum celebrates the adventurous spirit of the legendary writer.

The Bottle: A broad-shouldered and compact form that has strong historical ties to adventure, each bottle of Papa’s Pilar is fashioned after an authentic WWII canteen. A traditional screw top closure reinforces the canteen design with a compass-style top, different for the Blonde, Dark and Key West expressions.

Closure: The closures showcase compasses, inspired by Hemingway’s adventure on land, sea, and in Key West.

Side Label: Rum-sourcing and rum-making details are depicted on the side label in the interest of sharing the complex process.
