Diplomatico No 2 Barbet Rum

Born from the foothills of the Venezuelan Andes. Part of the Distillery Collection, a trio of special edition rums, each distilled a different way. This expression was created to showcase the distinct styles of rum Diplomatico can produce.

The collection's second release takes its name from the Barbet column still. Aged for four years in ex-bourbon American white oak barrels, the result is a rum of elegant restraint: lighter in body than its pot still sibling, but no less considered.

• A warm golden brown with a subtle orange hue.
• Tropical fruit aromas open the bouquet, well balanced by toasted oak notes. Soft and inviting at first, with hints of green apple drenched in honey and fresh mango, before hints of charred oak develop with a touch of baking spice.
• Elegant and dry on the palate, featuring tropical fruits, caramel, honey, and subtle spices with a mild, pleasing warmth.
• Finish is medium in length, slightly dry, with hints of wood and candied fruits, and a clean, dry aftertaste with a hint of bitterness that quietly invites another sip.

It is an ideal partner for slow-cooked pork ribs or a smoky barbecued brisket.
