Craigellachie 13 year old Bas-Armagnac is distilled in worm tub condensers and aged for 13 years in American oak barrels. For its final maturation, it spends several months in Armagnac casks from the Bas region, France. Adding an exquisite layer of fruity complexity to its robust character.
On the nose, this whisky greets you with rich aromas of orchard fruits, honey, and subtle floral notes. The Bas-Armagnac finish imparts a distinct character, with hints of apricot and plum blending seamlessly with Craigellachie’s signature meaty undertones.
The palate is full and round, showcasing flavours of baked apple, creamy toffee, and dried fruit, with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon. A gentle smokiness lingers, enhanced by a touch of sweet wine influence from the Bas-Armagnac casks. The finish is long and warming, with a delightful balance of sweetness and spice.
