This premium red blend is crafted in Stellenbosch, South Africa, where Meerlust’s vineyards benefit from cooling ocean breezes and deep granite-rich soils. The estate’s four distinct terroirs contribute structure, finesse and complexity to the wine. Slow ripening and careful vineyard management ensure full flavour development and balance.
Meerlust Estate has been family-owned since 1756, with winemaking led by Wim Truter. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented separately before blending. The wine is aged for 21 months in French oak (70% new, 30% second-fill) and bottled in magnum format for optimal ageing. Presented in a striking black gift tin, it’s ideal for gifting or cellaring.
