This single-vineyard Rioja is crafted from 100% Tempranillo grown on a 0.24-hectare plot planted in 1927. Located on a south-facing slope near the River Ebro, the vineyard benefits from natural springs and clay-limestone soils. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel, followed by 22 months of ageing in French oak barrels.
Produced by Bodegas Sonsierra, the first Rioja co-operative to earn the prestigious Vinedo Singular designation. El Manao is one of nine such vineyards under their care, making them the region’s leading producer of this classification.
