Le Mortelle Ampio
From the top vineyards of Le Mortelle in Maremma, Tuscany, this red blend is produced by the Antinori family. The estate has been organically farmed since 1999 and uses gravity-fed winemaking in an underground facility to preserve fruit integrity.
Each grape variety is fermented separately in truncated-cone tanks, then aged in new French oak for 18 months. The final blend is matured in bottle for 12 months. Suitable for vegetarians.
- The nose reveals black pepper, liquorice, and dark berries, especially currants and blueberries
- Le Mortelle Ampio delle Mortelle shows depth with chocolate, tobacco, aromatic herbs and violet blossoms
- A lengthy finish carries bitter chocolate and sour black cherry notes with elegant, mouth-filling tannins
Pairs well with grilled beef, aged cheeses and game dishes.
