Granite Mullineux Syrah

This Syrah is crafted in South Africa’s Swartland region, using fruit from a single parcel of dry-farmed bush vines planted on decomposed granite soils in the Paardeberg. The vineyard’s deep-rooted vines and rocky terrain produce wines with freshness, perfume and tension. Grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with whole bunches in open-top 500L French oak barrels. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrel, followed by 10 months in large foudre.

Mullineux is one of South Africa’s most acclaimed producers, founded by Chris and Andrea Mullineux. Their minimal intervention approach focuses on expressing terroir through native yeast fermentation and restrained oak use.
