90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre comprise this Southern Rhone blend from vines planted in 1956. The estate sits on exceptional sandy soils just 200 metres from the famous Chateau Rayas. These distinct safres soils impart a characteristic softness and elegance to the final wine.
Winemakers perform 100% de-stemming followed by a 38-day maceration in concrete tanks using wild yeasts. The wine then matures for 14 months in 25-year-old French oak foudres. This patient ageing process allows the fruit to develop without any dominant oak influence.
- A ruby appearance leads to delicate scents of wild strawberry and griotte cherries.
- The palate feels structured and incredibly elegant with fresh notes of blackcurrant and liquorice.
