Provence Wines
Provence wines come from a region in south eastern France bordering Italy and the Mediterranean Sea. A diverse landscape, from the Southern Alps and Camargue plains to rolling vineyards, olive groves, pine forests and lavender fields.
One of the oldest winemaking areas of France, renowned for its stunning roses, such as Minuty wine from the appellation Cotes de Provence. Throughout the region, wild herbs and lavender grow and influence the character of these Provencal wines.
The primary grapes used for the production of rose and red wines are mourvedre, syrah, grenache, cinsault, carignan and cabernet sauvignon. With ugni blanc, rolle, semillon and clairette for white wines.
The Provencal vineyards specialising in clear, fruity and generous roses. Also producing full-bodied red wines, which age well in the cellar. White wines from Provence are light, delicate, and easy to drink.
