The fourth chapter in their Legacy Series, Sound of Sleat has now been released in a Batch Strength edition. It showcases the distillery’s Smoke with Taste style at higher intensity. Torabhaig Distillery sits on the shore of the Sound of Sleat, the narrow sea channel between Skye and the mainland.
Bottled at 60.2% ABV. Made from Concerto and Laureate barley, fermented for 72 hours with Pinnacle MG+ yeast and matured in American Oak - first-fill bourbon, refill bourbon and virgin toasted oak.
- Peated to over 78PPM and showing 19PPM in-glass. This expression delivers pronounced coastal smoke with toasted oak, spice, salted honey and charred stone fruits. The nose opens with peat smoke, brine and sweet oak spice, backed by tobacco, orange barley sugar, apricot and seaweed.
- On the palate, zesty oak spice, bonfire embers and a waxy mouthfeel are layered with vanilla, white pepper and a hint of oriental smoke.
- The finish is long, smoky and spiced, with capsicum heat and a clear coastal influence.
Non-chill filtered and free from colouring.
