POL ROGER CHAMPAGNE
"I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 2015 Vintage Champagne Jeroboam
Pol Roger’s Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill 2015 is a tribute to the legendary British leader and his enduring bond with the Champagne house.
This connection began in 1944 at a luncheon in Paris, where Churchill met Odette Pol-Roger over a bottle of the 1928 vintage. Their friendship flourished, with Churchill famously declaring Pol Roger “the most drinkable address in the world.” He even named a racehorse after the house, which won at Kempton Park in 1953.
This Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 2015 Vintage Champagne Jeroboam pairs beautifully with elegant dishes such as roasted turbot, lobster with citrus butter, or creamy poultry dishes. Its structure and depth also make it an exceptional companion to aged Comté or truffle-infused cuisine. Ideal for grand celebrations or cellaring for future luxury.

"I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
Perhaps its most famous admirer was Sir Winston Churchill, who developed a lifelong devotion to Pol Roger following a lunch in the British Embassy in Paris on 12 November 1945 – shortly after the Conservatives were voted out of office – where Churchill met Odette Pol Roger, and at which Pol Roger 1928 was served. His connection with the house was so strong that he drank it in pint-sized servings from a tankard and maintained a close friendship with Odette Pol-Roger. To honour this legacy, the house created the prestigious Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill in 1984, a rich and full-bodied Champagne inspired by his love of robust vintages.
Churchill himself once declared, "I cannot live without Champagne. In victory, I deserve it. In defeat, I need it."
