Coal Pit Tiwha Pinot Noir 2019 75cl
Coal Pit Tiwha Pinot Noir
Coal Pit is a boutique family vineyard producing certified organic wines. The vineyard covers 7 hectares of land on the warm north-facing slopes of Gibbston, the highest sub-region in Central Otago, New Zealand. Planted in 1994 on schist based soils, these are some of the oldest vines in Gibbston.
Tiwha, the flagship wine of Coal Pit, pays tribute to owner Rosie's late father. The 2019 vintage was awarded a gold medal and the New Zealand Pinot Noir Trophy at the 2023 International Wine Challenge.
- Coal Pit Tiwha Pinot Noir has aromas of dark cherry with savoury notes of cocoa and dried herbs
- Fine-grained tannins give structure and length to the palate, and give the wine potential for ageing
- An elegant yet powerful pinot noir that pairs well with short rib, porcini mushrooms and rosemary
2023 International Wine Challenge - Trophy & Gold Medal winner for NZ Pinot Noir, Otago Pinot Noir & Gibbston Pinot Noir (2019 vintage).
